Linda Hottel, Lighthouse
Point, Florida
I met Linda several years ago, just after she moved to South Florida.
She was and still continues to be a very trusted and valued personal mentor and friend,
with a dedicated heart for serving and edifying others.
Linda began homeschooling in Ohio 12 years ago when her adopted daughter failed Kindergarten. She met her Mentor Moms
during a Bible Study and knew God was calling her to homeschool. Having experienced the importance of Mentor Moms, she has been mentoring since moving to Florida 9 years ago.
Linda homeschools her three children: Beth, a graduating
senior, Stefan
who is in 9th grader, and Savannah, a 5th grader. During her homeschool years she has experienced the challenges of several learning disabilities including dyslexia. She is a Wilson Certified Reading Tutor
and has 15 years
experience teaching in Ohio. She has used various Unit Studies and curriculum including Sonlight, Saxon Math, Alpha Omega, Apologia,
and Teaching Textbooks.
Linda welcomes all phone calls for mentoring, encouragement, advisement and prayer
any day after 1:00 pm, (954-781-1144).
Rita Chamberlin, her husband Bud and their three children
(19, 18, 16) live in N.E. Fort Lauderdale. They have always Home Schooled their children: their oldest just finished
her Freshman year of college. Rita taught Middle School Science and Math for 8 years before having children. She
has been a Home School evaluator for 14 years, including special needs students and has been administering IOWA testing for
2 years. You can contact Rita at 954-491-7747, 954-560-7643 or Ritachamberlin@bellsouth.net

Val Straussman holds a Master's Degree in Reading and has
been administering portfolio evaluations and standardized testing for many years. She has two children that have
homeschooled their entire education; one is at the university level and the other is duel enrolled. Val leads homeschool
coops in the Hollywood area and is in leadership with HEARTS - Home Educators Applying Righteous Teaching Standards.
She has served the homeschool community for many years and looks forward to expanding her role as her children are now older.
